 Dr. Simcha Rozen,

  Dean of Academic Affairs

Dr. Simcha Rozen has served as HAC’s Dean of Academic Affairs
since 2022, prior to which she was Dean of Students for 9 years.
In addition, she was a Lecturer in the Department of Computer
Science for more than two decades. Simcha earned a B.Sc. in Physics
and an M.Sc. in Applied Physics from The Hebrew University. She
completed her Ph.D. in 2009 and was a Postdoctoral Fellow at
The Hebrew University from 2009-2011. Among Simcha’s many
responsibilities, she is in charge of developing curriculums and
overseeing the implementation of HAC’s 5-year strategic plan.

“HAC’s vision of bringing education to the social and geographical
periphery puts the student in the center. Our goal is to advance
the social and professional mobility of our students, for which we
have built an extensive system of academic support to achieve
this objective. At the same time, the needs of Israeli society and
Israel’s labor market help to shape our pedagogical vision. We are
constantly examining new and innovation educational practices
and tools in light of this vision. If teamwork, for example, is an
important asset in the labor market, then students need to
experience teamwork as an integral part of their studies.”

“A college graduate in 2024 is not the same as a graduate from
two decades ago, which obligates us to constantly evaluate our
academic programs and training procedures. On the bright side,
as a college we can react faster to changes than larger institutions
of higher education. If we give our students the right tools, they
will be able to continue to learn and develop throughout their
                                               entire lifetime.”
